Initial assessment

The initial assessment at the Baseball Health & Performance Institute
is a prerequisite to semi-private membership. All new members must go
through the assessment, which consists of a movement screen, dynamic
assessment, jump testing, and baseline strength testing. The
assessment serves to allow us to get to know you as a person and an
athlete, as well as gives us a snapshot in time of where you're
currently at, so we can make a plan of action to get you to where you
want to go.

After getting through your movement screen (assess mobility), we'll
branch into some baseline jump testing, to get an idea of where your
power output currently lies. From there, we'll get into more of a
dynamic assessment, where we'll take you through a series of common
movements in the weight-room, to get a grasp on how your exercise
technique is starting off and get a sense of your body
control (proprioception). We'll then finish off with some strength
testing, either under load, or using your bodyweight, depending on
your age, experience, training and injury history.

After your assessment is when we get to work writing your baseline
training program. Once you're registered for your membership, you'll
be able to sign up for all of your desired training sessions, and we
will have your programs ready to go for you when you arrive each day.
