Hello,

I'm Franklin Miller, if you know me, you probably call me Frank. It is
my goal in bringing you the Baseball Health & Performance Institute to
provide you with everything I have gained over the years through my
own experience, to help you on your way to the next stage in your
athletic career. I have spent a lifetime in and around the game of
baseball, and through my own playing career I saw first-hand the value
in a quality strength and conditioning program. As an un-recruited kid
out of Ballston Spa High School throwing in the mid-70's, it was no
shock at all that I was cut from the team my freshman year of college
trying to walk on. After being cut, I decided to dedicate myself to
getting better. I transferred back to Hudson Valley Community College,
played, and the coach made us follow DVD workout videos. I immediately
went back out that spring throwing 83+mph, had a great season, and was
then recruited to play division II baseball at Dominican College. From
there, I really got into the weight room, and my pitching velocity
crept up to 88+mph at times. I was lucky enough to finish my playing
career playing division I baseball at Sacred Heart University.

At that point I knew that this was what I needed to do. I finished my
masters degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition, and became a
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist while in school. During
my time at Sacred Heart after finishing my playing career, I
participated in three internships, while working part-time as a
personal trainer at LA Fitness. I worked in the Pioneer Performance
Center in their human performance and biomechanics labs, assisting
with athlete testing and monitoring, as well as research taking place
in the university labs. I interned in the weight room at Sacred Heart
University with their 32 division I athletic teams, as well as spent
time learning at Advanced Therapy and Performance, a prestigious
training facility in Connecticut specializing in improving performance
while mitigating injury risk, primarily in throwing athletes.

Since finishing my schooling, I've been working in the private sector
with high school, college, and professional athletes, primarily
baseball players, as well as spending summers coaching in collegiate
baseball leagues, notably, as the pitching coach for the 2019 NECBL
Champion Keene Swamp Bats. Additionally I previously spent two summers
as a pitching coach in the VBCBL, and spent the COVID summer of 2020
coaching in the HRCBL.

BHPI has been in the works for over five years now, and I couldn't be
more excited to open our doors in Latham, I hope to see you there!
